Rug Of The Day - March 18th

It's been so warm and sunny here in Michigan!  The peepers are chirping away in the woods and marshy area.  It's the perfect weather to take a stroll...

and who should we meet along the way but Mr. MacGregor!  He's another wonderful adaptation from Lori Brechlin's folk art.  I hooked this rug in #8.5 cuts.  I love the "cupboard blue" background!  I think the most difficult part of the rug for me was the hit-or-miss scallops along the sides....I called it "trial and error!"  You will quickly learn how colors relate to one another when you start working with hit-or-miss.  I know some folks find it easy to do but it was more thought-provoking for me.  Still, it was a valuable learning experience and I love the way it turned out.

We may get close to 70 degrees tomorrow!  I wonder who will be out strolling in the sunshine tomorrow?

  1. I love the background as well, does it happen to be one of Rebecca Erbs?
I also love the wide eye look, taking in all the spring time flowers.

    I love your Mr. MacGregor.
The weather is northern Ohio has been wonderful, too, but I hear Monday it will only be 38. They say if you don't like the weather in Ohio stick around for a day because it will change!
    Pug hugs :)

  3. You made me cry reading the comments of this rug. I knew you had a kind heart and that's why I'm glad we're friends.
